No Codes
Benjamin Deschamps
This opus asserts a bold and resolutely contemporary vision, where bebop, free jazz, contemporary and classical influences, world music, as well as impulses drawn from punk and metal, intersect.
No Codes is a jazz collective led by saxophonist and composer Benjamin Deschamps. After a notable self-titled debut album in 2018, the group returned with Usual Suspects, released in November 2024. This opus asserts a bold and resolutely contemporary vision, where bebop, free jazz, contemporary and classical influences, and world music intersect, along with impulses drawn from punk and metal. From this hybrid approach emerges music that is intense, unpredictable, and deeply expressive, driven by strong interaction and a great deal of creative freedom.
